Montserrat Monastery, Barcelona Spain

Santa Maria de Montserrat is a Benedictine abbey located in the mountains of Montserrat (translated as "saw mountain" due to the sharp peaks) in Catalonia Spain. The basilica is a Gothic structure that also uses Renaissance shapes and traditionally Catalan architecture. It was severely damaged in the 1800's and reconstructed at the end of the 19th century.
