Mission Accomplished
Eid al-Adha also called Feast of the Sacrifice, is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to honour the willingness of the prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) (pbuh) to sacrifice his young first-born son Ismail (Ishmael) as an act of submission to God’s command and his son's acceptance to being sacrificed, before God intervened to provide Abraham with a Lamb to sacrifice instead.
I took this shot in the early morning of last year’s Eid al-Adha. These happy jubilant people are returning home after a successful trip to make shift cattle market where thousands of sacrificial animals are sold during this Eid. In obedience to God’s command, Muslims all over the world sacrifice Cow, Camel, Goat, Sheep and other similar animals in this holy festival.
