Repeating the trick?
Same river (the Tay), different location (Birnam)… I wondered if I could capture something similar to yesterday’s image. There was a branch dipping into the water. But it was too far away from the bank and the river was flowing too fast.
Rather than give up and walk away, I moved around a bit along the river bank and changed my camera height a few times. I persevered until I found this scene – with the stones in the foreground and the river and Dunkeld Bridge in the background.
I made sure that the focus area was set for the foreground, with the rest of the photo recognisable but not sharp. It wasn’t the shot that I’d hoped for, but it’s a decent second best.
