264/365. Contrast.

Anyone who knows me knows that I have this weird fascination with basically anything floral. Soo, I finally got up and learned how to make a flower crown, using the wildflowers that grow near my house. My head is so colorful you'd think I lived in a beautifully colorful place. I don't, believe me. Its all very monotone green. And that's only because of the season. Usually it's all monotone brown. I can't complain too much, though... atleast I have some plants (:

My goal with this photo was mainly to contrast the color and livelihood of the flowers, and the darkness and lack of detail in the black outfit, black backdrop, and black makeup. I didn't (and still don't) have a life or emotional comparison to this photo, like I usually try to in my 365s. This is all visual in my mind. However, it was very interesting during the process of making it and shooting this how quickly the flowers wilted... but it wasn't all of them. Mainly it was the daisies. They were absolutely beautiful when I first picked them, but by the time I had finished shooting they were wilted and almost unrecognizable. Isn't it curious how fast these things transform, and isn't it curious how our culture prizes picking these beautiful living things only to have them die so we can look at them for a bit?

...Oops, I think I've gone on a bit of a rant. (:I hope you like the photo!
