Goodyear Tire Company was one of many major manufactures to come. The factory settled in the county in the early 1900's. This provided new jobs and financial stability for the community. This was especially important during difficult times like WWI and the Depression Era. The company had come at a time when bicycles were popular, so supply of tires was in demand. Then came World War I, and the factories expanded the varieties of product by being involved with airship designs and balloons for the military. In World War II, the factories helped manufactured Corair fighter planes for the U.S. military. Goodyear was considered one of three top tire companies among 50 U.S. leading companies. Goodyear went international with market and supply-oriented foreign investments in 1929, and has exploded into much more. There are three main reasons why the company went international. First, was the "product cycle theory" which is to have products produced in factories over seas to have lower costs. Second is the "advantage" which is to move abroad to exploit an advantage, giving more widespread than technology and low factor costs. Finally is that multinational investments reducing transactions costs.
