A pair of class 397 units (likely to be 397009 and 397010), cross the River Ribble and glide into Preston station with an early morning test run to places north. The following day the first of these units entered revenue earning duties.
After a couple of days of rain it was most agreeable to wake up to a cold but clear Friday morning, which provided some lovely light throughout the day.
