Crossing the void

The fine Scottish scenery is almost entirely obscured by cloud and mist as 43135 and 43149 cross the Montrose basin with an Aberdeen to Glasgow service on the afternoon of the 5th June 2019.

The wrought iron lattice girder viaduct over the South Esk here was rebuilt by Sir William Arroll after problems were identified with the original, even before the line opened.
