Settle Semaphores

Settle Junction still has a fine array of semaphores controlling the junction where the S&C converges with the 'Little' North Western route.

Settle Junction railway station was one of the shorter lived efforts on the railway opening in October 1876 and closing to passengers just over a year later on the 1st November 1877.

66761 heads the 6M25, 0422 Doncaster - Arcow quarry through the junction on it's way north.
