Sundown shed substitute sighting

With the cloud and rain clearing during the afternoon I thought it was worth a run up to Blyth to see if 60047 was operating the evening Lynemouth to Tyne Dock working.

No such luck - at the planned departure time of 7.15pm the sun was out and there was some lovely evening light but nothing appeared. I knew there was a train in Lynemouth so it would have to come out at some point and held on. Around 30 minutes later it eventually emerged with the rather quieter ying of a class 66 rather than the bass thrum of a 60 heralding it's arrival.

There was still enough light to pick out the side of the impressive biomass wagons as 66722 'Edward Watkin' heads towards Woodhorn colliery with the 4N22 Lynemouth to Tyne Dock on the 22nd August 2018.
