Thread Stand improvised
The important thing in devising a thread stand is that the thread leads to a point directly over the center of the cone. I have tried various things but this is about the best homemade thread stand solution I've found! I use old CD containers as boxes for spools, so turning that upside down reveals the hollow inside the CD spindle. I found a piece of wooden dowel that just fit inside that spindle and then clipped a plastic clothespin onto the spindle. The clothespin happens to have holes that can lead the thread from the cone, but if not, a hole could be made, or a small eyelet could be added. A chip clip or anything could be used to lead the thread. The cone just stands under the thread lead point, nothing is required to hold it there,
