WESTERN SCOTTISH AEC MATADOR TOW WAGON
The AEC Matador 4 x 4 was originally designed as an artillery tractor unit and has long been a favourite of bus operators up and down the country. This one is perhaps more bus-like than most with it's half-cab layout, and was rebuilt at the company's Dumfries Workshops which had made a speciality of this type of work. It was allocated to Johnstone Depot, but was photographed at Nursery Avenue in Kilmarnock. It looks absolutely superb and has received the new corporate SBG fleetnames introduced in 1978. It is neatly summed up by two words.......CLASSIC ELEGANCE
