WESTERN SCOTTISH LM209 2320DD

2320DD was a Van Hool Astron T818 CH60Ft purchased new in May 1983 for use on "Fast Class" express services which was run by Newton's, Allander Travel and Dunnet's of Keiss linking Glasgow/Edinburgh to Inverness/ Wick/Thurso and Ullapool. It was a high class operation providing snacks and drinks, videos etc. At the time the Scottish Bus Group were running Leyland Leopards and Tigers which just could not compete, so it was with great relief when Newton's sold out in December 1985. This coach was transferred to Western Scottish as their M209 in 1985 and ran initially with Newton's fleetnames. It very brielfy had them removed and Scottish decals applied instead but not for long. It was coming into Buchanan bus station in Glasgow to provide duplication for the London service during the Glasgow Fair Fortnight.
