ALLANDER OF MILNGAVIE 4143AT
4143AT was a Van Hool Acron T818 CH60Ft purchased new in June 1983. It heads a high quality line up in Strothers Lane in Inverness. Allander and Newton's of Dingwall were partners in "Fast Class" express coach operations which linked Glasgow/Edinburgh /Perth to Inverness, with extensions to Thurso provided by Dunnet's of Keiss. I used their services a few times in the 1980's and they were excellent with videos played which really broke the journey up. The Scottish Bus Group were caught napping and competed with Duple bodied Leyland Tigers, but they were just not in the same league. Eventually they bought Newton's business and entered into an agreement with Allander that when they took the service off, they were given a guaranteed mileage on Citylink work for a couple of years.
It became PGD193Y on disposal and passed to Monks of Leigh, who then re-registered it as TOT987.
