Awaiting The End

This is all that remains of the Virginia Scrap Iron Company. The large field of grass is a pad of clean dirt three feet thick covering the main yard area. There was a horse stable in the lower left of the image that housed the horses for a large drayage company, and where VSI used to dismantle lead acid batteries. But the acid, and the floods played too much havoc with the building, and it had to go. Which makes me wonder why this structure is still standing. Perhaps the money on the project ran out, or it will take some different technologies to remove it.
