Passing through Knottingley one Wednesday enabled me to catch up with an obscure service I had been meaning to photograph since it started. B L Travel based in Kinsley operate services to Wakefield and Pontefract using a selection of Optares and the venerable Volvo B6s but less well known is the Wednesday & Saturday only 420 from Cridling Stubbs to Knottingley & Pontefract with only one journey in each direction. A WYCA owned access bus optare solo seems to be regular vehicle, interesting as Cridling Stubbs is in North Yorkshire...the famous A4 paper is just about visible in the nearside window reading "Pontefract 420" as the vehicle passes over the old A1 at Knottingley.
