43/52 Virginia City

We're camped about a mile from historic Virginia City, Nevada. It was the home of the famous Comstock Lode and one of the richest mining areas for gold and especially silver.

Behind Dusty and Dash, on the left, you can see the trailings for a mine that is still active. Last week we were on the other side of those mountains, also in the background (where it was snowier and colder).

This wasn't the photo I was going to use but wind and rain have moved in. Yesterday the winds hit 63 MPH. I think all of us are over it but supposedly today will be the same, only with rain. I'm thinking it's about time to head south to the Coachella Valley and Palm Springs.
