If you happen your own boat or have enough wealth to fly in this is the preferred method of getting to Martha’s Vinyard, MA. This Island has 6 Towns, Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Tisbury (Vineyard Haven), West Tisbury, Chilmark, and Aquinnah. We usually like to Visit summer haunts in the less crowded offseason but this time finding a place open in November would a challenge to find a place still open. A drive to towards the south side and Edgartown where we stayed in one of the historic older hotels that had big steam radiators but unfortunately the boiler was broke so 3 days of no heat or hot water. Not to be deterred we made our way around the island and found an interesting WW2 history lesson on its county airport – where they learned aerial gunnery and how to fly on and off the decks of aircraft carriers.
