30/365 - Grazing

This is my four-legged creature to fit the theme of the week. I usually forget to check the theme, but I remembered this week and, instead of trying to corner one of our four household critters, I drove out to a farm market not far from home that has scrap metal animal sculptures scattered around its parking lot.

I'm bummed about the frame-crowding on the left side, but that danged ol' polar vortex was blowing through at the time, and a snow squall warning had just popped up from NWS and I was trying to outrun that - so I wasn't as deliberate with the framing as I maybe would have been if the weather had been better and I wasn't concerned about getting back home safely (spoiler alert: I did). Also, the farm market is on the corner where two major highways intersect, so the background - especially with a prime lens in a small parking lot - is hard to make pretty and unobtrusive. The horse is a great subject, but framing it well is tricky, and would be even in more clement weather.

Fortunately, this place is close enough that I can give it another shot - or snapshot - another day.
