A Momentary Mountain of Mist
A chilly morning for June 1st with air temperatures hovering just above the dew point (39 f.). Being without any wind for most of the night, the fog was able to fill in all of the space over the shallow valley of the marsh.
About a half-hour after sunrise and just shortly after the sun had risen out of the mist, a burst of wind came through. The fog bank was pushed along as if it were part of a giant wave rolling towards the southeast. The crest of this wave of fog pushed up above the level of the sun momentarily, blocking the light again before rolling on. It was really fascinating to watch
