I purchased this used low mileage 1956 Bantam Major model in 1957 after the previous 1937 model A.J.S. 350cc was sold on to another soldier. It was on sale at our local motorcycle dealer available to purchase on a 18 months Hire Purchase payments scheme. This was ideal for me, as I was still serving my National Service for another year, and it was more reliable & economical to run than the previous A.J.S model.
