FJ&G 104 Gloversville Yard, 9-36 J Winslow
The Fonda, Johnstown & Gloversville Railroad operated both an electric interurban line (abandoned 1938) and a steam road (abandoned 1984) in the Schenectady area of New York State. This September 1936 shot by J. Winslow captures one of the eight big wooden interurbans acquired in 1904 from the St. Louis Car Company. taken in the Gloversville yard, it appears to be during a fantrip. Note the young man peering out of the front window. Note also the "Accommodation" sign hung on the side, which in FJ&G parlance meant a "local" as opposed to an "express" car. B&W print in my collection.
