A particularly long Santa Fe freight returning to Riverside from the San Jac branch at Highgrove, April 1996. The empties would collect up at the top of the hill around Perris and then at the end of the week they'd bring a really long train down the big hill at Box Springs. Today the San Jac has been rebuilt as Metrolink's Perris Valley Line commuter rail, with freight still operating as well.
