Market Street Railway 578, built in San Francisco in 1896 by the Hammond Car Co. (who would later make cable cars for the California St. cable line), in public service for Muni Heritage Weekend 2019, 9/7/19. The car pre-dates the use of airbrakes on street railway equipment, and remains equipped only with hand brakes.
