Downtown LA Banning St at Center St IMG_8311
Like many of our larger cities, Downtown Los Angeles was once blanketed with an extensive network of railroad spurs, including quite a bit of street trackage. These are some photos taken in June of 2012.
This was all that remained of Banning Street looking east at Center. Up until 1989 Banning hosted a multi-track complex of industrial sites, see photos posted below in comments. Looking at Google Earth, the neat old building across the street at right is now gone as this area continues to transform.
