New York Central L-2a Class "Mohawk" 2726, 12-7-32. Buiilt 1925 by ALCO. Caption on the back of the print reads: "The first locomotive of the New York Cental Lines to be equipped with double disc driving wheel centers. This brand new type of locomotive wheel is cheaper than the old and is substantially lighter- thus reducing the impacts of the wheels on the rails. This new type of wheel consists of double disc centers over which is placed an ordinary locomotive tire. Other locomotives will be similarly equipped when they are sent to the shops for repairs".
