CAE 402 DesPlaines Ca 1956
Chicago, Aurora & Elgin 402 leads its six-car train out of the CTA / CA&E DesPlaines terminal circa 1956. As of 1953 the CA&E terminated its trains here instead of continuing directly into the Chicago Loop on the "L", an arrangement that lasted until passenger service ended in 1957. The train is passing under the loop for the "L" trains,which was built on a wooden trestle that took them up and over the CA&E tracks.
