PE Toluca Yard Overhead before and after
A before and after (1950s and 1989) of the Pacific Electric Toluca Yard, where the short PE subway in downtown LA came back to street level. Today the yard has been filled in with an apartment complex, although the substation building is still there, and of course the tunnel itself.
The top photo was taken (I believe) by the late Walter Abbenseth, the bottom photo I took in 1989.
