CTA L-202 3 Fox River Trolley Museum 6-29-85

CTA locomotive L-202 in operation at the Fox River Trolley Museum 6-29-85. Originally built in 1908 by Chicago City Railway (later CSL) as shop switcher C50, it was transferred to the rapid transit division of CTA in 1957. It was rebuilt in 1958 as L-202, and later renumbered S-343.

Designed for switching railroad freight cars, it was assigned to the 63rd St. lower yard where there was a railroad interchange. Not sure when it was retired- I never saw it on CTA property, but glad to see it was preserved.
