Penns Landing Philadelphia 5-89 9
The Penn's Landing trolley operation used an electrified 1.1 mile stretch of Conrail's waterfront freight trackage along Delaware Avenue. The operation was run by the Buckingham Valley Trolley Association (BVTA) from 1982 to 1995.
The group had a large collection of Philadelphia-area equipment stored in several locations around the waterfront. This long string of cars was located on Pier 38 at the south end of the trolley operation.
Pier 38 is still around today, now converted to a big self-storage operation. The BVTA collection has since been relocated to the Electric City Trolley Museum in Scranton, PA, part of the Steamtown National Historic Site.
