Downtown LA industrial trackage 1989 6
Downtown Los Angeles used to have an extensive network of industrial sidings (including lots of street trackage) radiating off of Alameda Street and the parallel Santa Fe line a few blocks to the east. www.flickr.com/photos/internetarchivebookimages/147380509... This is Santa Fe trackage on Banning St., and I think at this point in 1989, demolition of these factory buildings was just beginning. Today this stretch of Banning St., and all of the buildings and tracks, is completely gone between Vignes and Alameda.
And note the "fashion shoot" in progress (this is LA after all)
