Thailand - Burma Railway - The end of the line

For years this was the end of the line, a buffer and beyond a complete overgrown alignment towards the Sai Yok Noi Waterfall. The name of the village is Tha Sao but the station name: Nam Tok (waterfall) at km, 130.05 measured from Nong Pladuk Junction were the Burma Railway officially begins. It was always a pleasure leaving the station and walk as far as this point but coming and going by train left ample time for a real excursion behind. In the early nineties, the SRT decided to extend the line to the waterfall using the old alignment for 1.454 km; it took many years to complete this.
