So, I find this photo just plain awesome. He's wearing a gas mask. And he has a rifle with a gigantic bayonet. During WWII. And he's goofing off. It's always neat when I find a photograph and it has the person's name and address listed on the back. I always try and find out if they're still around, and if not, when they passed. In this particular instance, I'm reminded that during WWII, soldiers often got so up close to the enemy, they would indeed need to stab them to death, whether with a bayonet or some other knife. Do they ever even do that in modern warfare?

Once, with a fellow named Kermit, I was able to find his granddaughter, I believe. I'll post his photo later on when I get to it.
