Bottlenose dolphin

Chanonry point, Moray Firth. Although the bottlenose dolphin can grow upto 4m long and weigh 650kg (which I suspect this one is having seen it leaping from the water) they do have difficulty in eating such large salmon - my guess would be that this one was about 3-4kg. In order to get it down it needs to be at the correct angle otherwise it is rejected (as in the image) and the dolphin has another go. This can go on for quite a time - in this case about 15 minutes. It is a great event to experience.
