Teatro Boulevard Theatre
Located in Oxnard California this local theatre has a rather interesting history, now an art moderne style theater that was built in 1929 and it is the oldest standing theater in the city of Oxnard. The Teatro ran first run films untill it started running Spanish language films in the 1960's and continuing doing so for decades until it finally closed in 1993.
It remained closed until the Teatro became home to producer Daniel Lanois El Teatro Studios in 1995. He turned the theater into a recording studio and worked on a handful of late 90's & early 2000's more interesting albums, including Bob Dylan's comeback album "Time Out of Mind" and U2's "All That You Can't Leave Behind".
Also In 1998 Willie Nelson and Emmylou Harris came to Oxnard to record "Teatro"
In 2007 The Teatro was purchased by Paul Sangster founder of Future Lighting, a company that provides large scale projection and projection mapping services.
In 2014 Neil Young and Promise of the Real moved into the Teatro to record The Monsanto Years. Promise of the Real is headed by Lukas Nelson, Willie Nelsons Son. The Teatro provided the perfect setting to the bands spontaneous garage rock sound:
The Teatro theater is currently available for Studio Rental.
