Wilshire-Saban Theatre
The Art Deco Fox Wilshire Theatre was opened in 1930 and was another LA theater designed by S. Charles Lee along with the amazing Art Deco style auditorium designed by Harold B. Franklin.
Built with a full stage the theatre was used for live theatrical productions, concerts and movies. Closed in 1977 the theater sat empty till the Nederlander Theatres Group took over in 1981 using the theater for Broadway musicals.
In 2009 Haim and Cheryl Saban donated five million for restoration of the proscenium, orchestra area, & marquee, subsequently the name change on the marquee.
An amazing deco theater that has survived and is still very much active for the community at large
