DSC04455_1-Moon over Concepcion, Chile after Midnight
This photo was taken with my Soligor 400mm f6.3 pre-set telephoto lens with (2) two 2X Tele-extenders (4X), a Sun and a Vivitar TC that equals 1600mm and with the sensor factor of 1.5 equals 2400mm. I shot handheld at 1/1000 sec., f6.3, ISO 1600. PP in Adobe Photoshop CS6 for corrections, etc. This was a test to see the quality using two (2X) tele extenders and shooting handheld. To get the moons image in the center of the frame was quite hard handheld. I will later try this with a full moon with and with out a tripod. Using 2 2x TC I lost lots of light, about 4 f stops and to shoot handheld it is necessary for a shutter speed to be about the same as the focal length, thus I shot at 1/1000 sec. a bit to slow but manageable. A tripod is necessary so I can use a smaller f stop.
