Organic Masking

Organic masking is described as the filling of the sides of a photo frame with natural scenic elements for the effective framing of a subject.

There are many examples of this on FSU's campus, but this photo uses the trees outside Strozier library on Landis Green to frame Landis hall in the background. The way that the trees appear shaded in the foreground is also an excellent example of how organic masking frames its subject more powerfully and effectively.
