Grotto Bridge built in 1757 over River Almond Edinburgh
Grotto Bridge is dated 1757 and is part of the Craigiehall Estate (used presently as Scottish Army HQ) and is upriver from the Cramond Brig, perhaps a 10-15 minute walk or you could park in Cammo Road and walk down. See the map location to make sense of this. You can walk further up the river over the bridge and it will take you to Turnhouse the old Edinburgh Airport with a nice view down the railway to the Forth Bridge and lots of planes to watch or photograph. Wiki about Craigiehall ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craigiehall )
I chose a Single RAW file ran through Photomatix to enhance the image - I know people will have mixed views on 'altering' photographs as I once did myself. But our eyes see a much wider range of light than a single shot can take... you could do a set of the same photographs with different settings and combine them (bracketing feature on most DSLR's). Or change using Lightroom, I've only used Photomatix to date and am happy with the results. Once I have more time I will try Lightroom too...
Thanks for looking and your positive comments.
