Soon To Be Gone But Not Forgotten.......
I visited this location almost 4 years ago and posted a B&W version of this icon, so when I heard about it being set on fire last week I thought I would go back in my files and reprocess the color version.
I know some photographers view this as overdone or cliché, but over the years I have enjoyed seeing so many different takes of this old boat.
I applaud anyone that wants to take their photography to the next level and be creative, but at some point common sense has to kick in! At what point does it seem like a good idea to fling burning steel wool over the top of a decaying wood structure?
The Point Reyes Light did a really nice story on the Case of The Burned Boat with solid quotes and some history, highly recommend reading it. Also, they scored the actual fire picture. check out the link below.
