Connor, Unforgettable
Today is World Pet Memorial Day and so I wanted to honor Connor, my fluffy Corgi. He was the dog before Benni and a force of nature. I had 3 litters of 8 week old puppies to choose from but really had no choice. Connor would knock the other puppies out of the way and climb into my lap. He owned me.
He was smart, willful, fun, did amazing things like steal a whole pizza from a picnicking couple in the park and invade the kindergarten and walk on their lunch table as they ate. He pushed his way into every photo I took of little grandkids. He was my best friend and considered me his job on earth. He loved me unconditionally and wouldn't walk with anyone else when I was bedridden with a broken pelvis. He stayed with me.
I hope to meet him in Heaven - he and Benni are the dogs that are part of me now.
