Hoshippa No Ie, MinamiAizu, Fukushima Prefecture
This is a picture of me having breakfast on the Fukushima KaoLINK Project with high school students in Tohoku at an accommodation facility called “Hoshippa-no-Ie” located in Minamiaizu, Fukushima prefecture. “This is the best breakfast I have ever had,” said one of the students. It was a very simple breakfast consisting of rice, miso soup, and some pickles, but what made it so enjoyable? Having a meal while breathing in fresh air in great nature, commenting on how delicious it is with big smiles – it was an experience that made me realize that moments like this are not as common anymore, and it also made me want to have meals with someone I care about, taking more time than usual. The meals I had in the nature of Fukushima prefecture, fully utilizing all of my five senses, were a few of my happiest moments.
