Tennessee health fair a success, Corizon steps it up for inmate health

The Charles Bass Correctional Complex in Tennessee recently sponsored a Health Fair for inmates, where they set up booths and answered health questions. Nashville Cares, a support organization for those living with HIV/AIDS, had testing coordinators at the Fair. Students from Tennessee State University were also in attendance to learn a little more about correctional healthcare, and join in providing information to inmates regarding their health.

Anonymous survey forms were given to inmates to respond regarding medical and dental services; education on oral hygiene was provided and inmates received oral hygiene items that had been donated.

This fair was a great opportunity for clinicians at the facility to partner with community members in providing health education and support for the inmate population.
