Duncan Adkins says: This MOC is all around ultra-realistic. It has all of the qualities of an urban landscape, while still fitting into the modular buildings standard.

Duncan Adkins says: This is just what a city is: a collection of different people, ideas, and buildings, that eventually all come together and make a bigger staement. Wether it's just "I'm here", or "Love your neighbor", this picture conveys that perfectly.

Duncan Adkins says: Though it is based on a real city (Amsterdam), it is still difficult to achive the look of a city with the bricks. Even tougher is getting a picture from the veiw of a citizen. It really makes you question wether they are small, or it is us who are big.

Duncan Adkins says: As a polar opposite to the prior picture, this embodies the 'new' parts of a city. The height to put as many people into as little space as possible, without sacrificing beauty. The feeling ofthe big city, being drawn through the streets, seeing the people walikng around minding their own buisiness. But to you, they are ants. Such is the idea of the skyscraper.

Duncan Adkins says: People are people for the simple fact that it is impossible for us to stay bored. Without this urge, there would be no art in this world. Movies have been a way of alleviating this boredom for at least 100 years. The classic movie theatre, with flashing neon lights, and a brightly lit marquee is all captured here.

Duncan Adkins says: Trash. As some say, it can be one man's treasure. The beautification of this area may be promised, but will never come. Yet it has an urban beauty to it. What to some is dirty graffiti and spilled refuse can be to others the wings of a butterfly, rising out of its coccon, spreading its bright wings for the first time.

Duncan Adkins says: Brightness and glittering glass often hide dark motives, and behind-the-scenes deals that end up in violence. Humans have a remarkably large capacity for violence and hatred. Like the peoples of the past, we must face up to our dirty deeds, lest they be exposed in the most unpleasnt of fashions. That is why we like stories so much. They allow us to escape, to a world where our problems are carried by others.

Duncan Adkins says: Other times, the world isn't dark, but bright. Here, the city is alight, filled with action, spped, and colour. Citizens go on their merry ways, the govenment keeps transportation running. The streets are filled with sun and flowers. The Orchestra of the city has warmed up, rising to the creschendo of noon, falling into a mezzoforte of evining, and eventualy ceasing in the final note of night, but only to begin to warm up again next morning.

Duncan Adkins says: The city is often filled with residences, giving everyone a home. But what aabout the other parts? Well that is filled with industry and business, people working 9 to 5 to be able to enjoy themselves and lead their lives. Industry will always have a place, especially when it is beautifully executed.
