A flask is being transferred from road transporter to an FNA flatrol via an overhead crane in the Torness Nuclear power station compound near Barns on 1 December 2011. 57008 and 57010 (out of shot) are in attendance.
The 50te AGR Mk A2 flasks were similar in appearance to the older generation of cuboid designs but they did have some marked visual differences - aimed at protection of their lid seals - and it can be seen here why - when operators at Sellafield first encountered them - they nicknamed them “batflasks”.
