First North Western operated the North West Regional Railways franchise from March 1997 until 2004 - when this picture was taken (on 30 August) at that time the Windermere services transferred to First Transpennine Express. In this shot near Staveley, the train still carries First’s Northwestern Livery but there are blank spaces in the lining below the windows where the branding has been removed. 175111 forms the 1049 Manchester – Windermere.
