Schoolboy Error.
Also on 25 October I had intended to meet up with fellow flickrites; naturalised Cumbrian Richie B and his Devonian chum Eddie Holden, though it turned out to be just a fleeting meet. Rich And Eddie’s heads can be seen on the bridge capturing 20303 and 20305 that were top and tailing 3S14, the 1140 Sheffield – Hull RHTT, which is approaches Gilberdyke Junction. The signal box is on the right with a massive comms dish somewhat at odds with the mechanical signalling.
If I sat down on the platform I was able to get the up junction semaphores on the left and see the down semaphores below the bridge. However when they were pulled off, the home signal arm at the junction disappeared behind the bridge! It’s unfair to the younger generation to call that a schoolboy error it’s really an old bloke error, what was I thinking!
