Empathy
This is a graphic I designed illustrating the meaning of Empathy. The yellow figure is the Empath who understands the depression and broken heart of the blue person. More than sympathetic, they 'know' the feelings at a core level. But the Empath's sunshine is still there and they don't have a broken heart themselves. I used the quilt my mother made for me as the background because she is the one who identified my empathetic ability for me when I was young, and taught me what it was I was experiencing...and that not everyone can do this.
