Blue Hydrangea

Bringing out the details of this beautiful Hydrangea wasn't easy facing the sun. The plant was overloaded with blooms and such a lovely sight.

 

The hydrangea's bloom colour reveals the pH of the soil, but with its distinguishing colours being the reverse of those for litmus paper. The hydrangea is unique among plants in this ability to indicate soil acidity. ... All these strategies tend to turn soil more acidic, and eventually transform the bloom colour to blue. It also means that other plants may not grow happily within the vicinity of Hydrangeas.
