Rustic Moth
I had a visitor this evening in my study! This invading moth was pretty docile and so I took it in to the kitchen and captured some shots of it. Losing my FPB also means I've lost my clever Internet researcher. So, if anyone else out there can identify this species I would be grateful if you will let me know.
Moths, like butterflies, have so many species, it is difficult to pin down exactly which one it is. The nearest I came up with is from the Rustic family of Moths. It also resembles a Carpet Moth and looking at its patterns and texture, it would fit in with that species.
Whilst we may not appreciate the kind of moths that get in to our cupboards and eat our clothes, get them under a microscope or Macro lens and they are stunningly beautiful.
