This is a scene from Northwest Norway on the island of Flakstadøy. In the foreground is the fishing village of Sund & in the background the Lofoten Wall mountains. Although not as popular as the nearby Maelstrom, Lofoten (spelled Lofoden in the Funk & Wagnalls Encyclopedia) was important enough to be included in the book Around the World in 2000 Pictures, had an entry in the Columbia Encyclopedia, as well as 1 of 21 slides in the View Master packet of the country.
